The Story

JP & Gereldine Maritz LOVED the placed called Burgerhut that was sold some years ago and always dreamed about opening a place much like it. It was a family Restaurant and always fully booked.

JP & Gereldine wanted to create a similar atmosphere – a welcoming, lively place with excellent quality and  of course A GREAT VIBE! When they saw that Na Die Oes was for sale they immediately jumped at the opportunity to start their journey in fulfilling their dreams, within a year they changed the name to Skoffel Skuur. It was a chance of a life time, that could not be overlooked… since, who knows if second chances will come around?

Their hope for Skoffel Skuur going forward, is to build a family friendly get together place for all ages so that Middelburg can have a place to go and have good times with friends and the whole family. They have big ambitions and want to make Skoffel Skuur, Middelburg's PLACE TO GO!
